2. Project Components

2.4 On Farm Water Management and Agriculture:


    1. Development of field programs on selected water courses in the area of each of 53 FOs, over 100 acres land consisting of both on-farm water management demonstration and training coupled with introduction of appropriate crop production techniques for input selection and use including seed production, use of insecticides, mechanization and weed control.


Detailed activities :

         1.  Selection of field program water courses :
i.   Identification of water courses with coordination of Farmers                           Organizations
                ii.       Confirmation regarding executions from prospective farmers and                           availability of land for implementing the Field Program.
         2.  Training programs :
                 i.       Training of trainers(Ist Phase)
                 ii.      Training of farmers(2nd Phase)
         3.  Operating field programs:
                  i.       Conduct baseline survey
                  ii.      Topographical mapping
                  iii.     Field layout design
                  iv.     Laser land leveling
                  v.      Purchase of bed shaper,seed drill etc.
                  vi.     Purchase and installation of Pipe Nascca
                  vii.    Sowing of seeds through drill machine.
                  viii.   Raised bed plantation
                  ix.     Installation of high-tech irrigation techniques
                  x.     Soil nutrient profile determination
                  xi.    Conjunctive use of groundwater and its treatment techniques
                  xii.    Facilitate farmers for supply of input on credit and seeds
                  xiii.   Conduct livelihood support services (forestation)
